UpReach Center in need of
Volunteers
DATE: May 9, 2008
UpReach needs volunteers to work with horses and riders.
UpReach Therapeutic Riding Center in Goffstown, NH is seeking volunteers who can
help one hour a week to assist challenged children and adults during their
equine assisted therapies. Sessions are held Monday through Friday from
9:00am-8:00pm. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old and must also attend a
volunteer training session. No previous horse experience is necessary. With the
help of certified instructors, volunteers will earn how to groom and tack,
emergency dismount procedures and how to act as leaders and sidewalkers in the
lessons. In addition to helping clients improve their posture, balance,
coordination and joint mobility, volunteers benefit from seeing firsthand how
clients can overcome their fears, develop responsibility for their horse as well
as increase self esteem and confidence; all things that can be transferred from
their sessions to their everyday lives. To find out more about UpReach, it's
