Suspicious Man Reported Near MVMS

GOFFSTOWN - Police here are conducting and investigation after children reported seeing a suspicious man near the Mountain View Middle School football field around 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Police said a man dressed in dark clothing carrying a bag was spotted by several children who were
playing at the field.

Lt. Robert Browne of the Goffstown Police Department told WMUR, "We actually sent officers into the
woods to see if we could locate anyone that was out there."

At least four children ages 5 to 11 have been interviewed at least twice by experts, police said.

"The interviews have been done, and we're certain someone was in the woods at that time, and we're
trying to figure out who that was," Browne said.

While police said bow and turkey-hunting seasons are in full swing, parents said they have never heard of or seen people hunting in the woods so close to children.

"Not around the school, no," parent Donna Gagnon told WMUR. "Maybe in other fields, but not around the school."

Investigators are asking for the public's help in identifying the man. Anyone with information is
asked to call police at 603-497-4858.
