Goffstown Man killed in head-on collision
- On April 28, 2010 at approximately 10:54 am, members of the New Hampshire State Police Troop A barracks in Epping, were requested to respond to a reported serious motor vehicle crash on Route 125 in the town of Kingston. Upon their arrival, the troopers learned the crash involved a total of three vehicles.
The preliminary on-scene investigation revealed that a GMC Envoy, being driven by John Freeman, age 62 of Amesbury, MA was traveling southbound on Route 125 when for an unknown reason, crossed the center yellow lines and struck a northbound Chrysler PT Cruiser, being driven by Paul Michaud, age 69 of Goffstown, NH.
After this collision, a third vehicle which was also northbound, a Dodge pickup truck being driven by Colin Davies, age 72 of Epping, NH then struck the GMC Envoy.
The operator of the PT Cruiser, Mr. Michaud, was pronounced dead at the scene by Assistant Deputy Medical Examiner Laura Foley. Mr. Freeman was transported to the Exeter Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No injuries were reported from the occupants of the Dodge pickup.
Assisting the State Police at the scene were members of the Kingston Police and Fire Departments, the East Kingston Police Department, the Brentwood Fire Department and Exeter ALS unit.
The crash remains under investigation by Trooper David M. Kane and members the New Hampshire State Police Technical Accident Reconstruction Unit. At this time, it does not appear that alcohol, weather or excessive speed were factors in this crash.
