"Musical
Mom" review coming to Goffstown
GOFFSTOWN
- Come celebrate Mother’s Day with a one-of-a-kind theatrical performance. You’ll laugh, cry, and have a renewed appreciation of all that is motherhood! In HIS Steps Learning Center, a ministry of Goffstown Christian Fellowship, is thrilled to be hosting two performances of the musical revue, Musical Mom!
Winner of the 2007 New Hampshire Theatre Award for Best Original Musical Revue, Musical Mom is an evening of Broadway songs that explores and applauds everything about being a mom – from pregnancy to birth, child rearing to letting go. In May of 2007, NH chronicle highlighted Musical Mom and it’s lead actress, Marisa Roberge, as one of the most moving and unique theatrical events in the state.
Before becoming a full-time mom to two boys, Ms. Roberge worked as a professional actress and now combines the two loves of her life – motherhood and theatre – to create a one-of-a-kind evening that takes audiences through the roller-coaster ride of motherhood: the stress, the humor, the heartfelt, the joy.
Jeff Rapsis of The Hippo Magazine writes: a “moving exploration of one of life’s most important experiences. In a tour de force performance, Marisa Roberge sold every song, wringing the most out of every lyric and keeping the audience’s attention riveted from start to finish.”
Musical Mom was co-created and directed by Wayland Bunnell (Best Director – Musicals in NH 2005), co-created and produced by Kevin Roberge (Marisa’s husband), with musical direction by Joel Mercier.
Performances will be held on at Goffstown Christian Fellowship, 67 Henry Bridge Road, Goffstown, NH on Saturday, May 9th at 8pm and Saturday, May 16th at 8pm. Advance Tickets are $10, with proceeds to benefit In HIS Steps Learning Center, and are available by calling the school office (603)497-4508. Tickets will also be available at the door for $12. In honor of Mother’s Day, each patron will receive a gift bag filled with goodies from local business owners!
