Goffstown News cuts back to twice monthly

GOFFSTOWN - From the March 26th edition of the Goffstown News:

"Effective with our April 2 edition, The Goffstown News and The Hooksett Banner will publish twice per month instead of weekly. The papers will publish on the first and third Thursday of each month. You still will be able to pick it up for free in all the same retail outlets.

Because The Goffstown News and The Hooksett Banner are free, it’s solely supported by advertising revenue. The economy has hurt local businesses, which in turn has meant fewer advertising dollars for the newspapers, according to Amy J. Vellucci, publisher of Neighborhood News Inc. 'The twice-monthly schedule will reduce costs and allow us to continue to publish and distribute your hometown newspaper for free. We ask that our readers and advertisers take into consideration the new publication dates.'"
