Village planning committee established
GOFFSTOWN - The Goffstown Board of Selectmen voted on June 16th to establish a
“Village Planning Committee” at the request of Public Works Director Carl Quiram.
purpose of the committee is to review the Master Plan and Corridor Study to make
recommendations to the Board of Selectmen on design elements for the Goffstown Village Area.
This is a timely request as many roads in the village area are scheduled for repair and/or
reclamation in the next several years. The plan is to coordinate the road work with the overall
design of the village and coordinate the work around Goffstown’s 250th Anniversary
Celebrations in 2011. The committee will review traffic flow, sidewalks, pedestrian crosswalks,
streetscapes, and parking.
The Village Planning Committee will consist of thirteen (13) members including four
citizens at large, a representative from the Board of Selectmen, Planning Board, Economic
Development Council, School Board, Goffstown Main Street Program, and four staff members –
Public Works Director, Police Chief, Fire Chief, and Planning and Economic Development
If you are interested in the future design of the Village area, and have time to serve on
this committee, then please complete a Volunteer Application (available at Town Hall or online
at www.goffstown.com) and submit to the Administration Office at Town Hall by July 10th.
Appointment of members will be scheduled for the July 14th Board of Selectmen meeting.
Meetings will be held during early morning hours to accommodate members’ work
schedules and will be held in the Mildred Stark Meeting Room on the lower level of Town Hall.
The tentative meeting schedule is 7:30 AM – 8:30 AM on the following Mondays – July 21st and
28th, August 4th and 18th, September 8th, 15th and 22nd. A Final Report will be presented to the
Board of Selectmen at their September 29th meeting.
