Goffstown Teen Charged In Golf Club Beating

GOFFSTOWN - A Goffstown teenager is charged with ambushing an acquaintance and beating him with a golf club this week.

Seventeen-year-old Michael Robinson appeared in court on August 29th, charged with assault and falsifying evidence for allegedly throwing the golf club in a river.  Police said witnesses reported that other young people helped lure the victim, Thomas Foster, to a remote area of the Rails to Trails path off Route 114, just across from the Hillsborough County Hospital trail last week, where he was attacked.

They say the attack might have been in retaliation for a fight several days earlier in which Robinson may have been the victim.

Police say as many as five or six other people may be charged.

Court documents said Foster has been released from the hospital.
