St. Anselm College Students Walk 130 Miles

GOFFSTOWN -
More than two dozen students from Saint Anselm College finished a grueling 130-mile walk this weekend to help others.

The students' walk, from Lewiston, Maine, to their campus in Goffstown, may have tested their personal endurance levels, but it also allowed the young men and women a chance to raise money for area charities.  The walk traced the steps of alumnus Seamus Griesbach from his home in Lisbon Falls, Maine, to St. Anselm in the late 1990s,

Students from St. Anselm's have been taking part in the Road for Hope for the past nine years and altogether their altruistic efforts have garnered more than $130,000 in donations.

Following their arrival at their scholastic home Saturday, this year's batch of students said it was a definite learning experience.

"It was so fun," student Stefanie Iannalfo said. "I absolutely loved it."

But the lengthy journey was not all fun and games for the students, as Iannalfo was forced to complete the trip in a van after suffering a stress fracture in her foot.
