As I write this column, the temperature is in the 40s, the sun is shinning bright and an overwhelming desire to be fishing open water has a grip on me. The wait won’t be too much longer. Only five more days until March and the big wind-down to Spring. They call the sickness "Cabin Fever". A great way to beat it is to attend the Pelham Fish and Game Club and Merrimack River Valley Chapter Trout Unlimited’s 5th annual Fly-Fish New Hampshire Show on Saturday and Sunday, March 3 and 4. The show will be held at the Pelham Fish and Game Club, located at 100 Simpson Mill Road, Pelham, N.H.

Whether you are an experienced fly-fisher, a novice or one who would like to find out what fly-fishing is all about, this show offers a lot. There are continuous seminars and demonstrations given by regional and national fly-fishing experts on both days of the show:
9:30 a.m. Gerry Crow, Fly-Fish 101 - What you need to know to get started in fly-fishing.
   11:00 a.m. Stephen Rock - Fly-Fishing New Hampshire.
12:30 p.m. Harry Mehos - Still Water Fishing N.H.’s Lakes and Ponds.
   12:00 noon & 1:30 p.m. Tom Jutras - Fly Casting.
2:00 p.m. Captains Brett Vaughn & John Vratsenes - Fly-Fishing the New England Coastline.

Also featured at 9:00 a.m., on Saturday only, will be Cote’s Rod Building Class. This class requires pre-registration.
You can call (508) 892-3765 or send an e-mail to: Gizmocpns@aol.com .

There are a number of guides and other exhibitors who will also be present at the show also. These include:

Affordable Adventures Mountain Road Fly Shop
Broadside International New England Fishing Magazine
Cast Away Adventures New Hampshire Fish Carvings & Custom Reel Seats
Channel Edge Charters New Hampshire Rivers Guide Service
Cote’s Fly Shop N.H. Wildlife Federation
Evening Sun Fly Shop North Country Angler
Ipswich River Mayfly Company North Star Guide Service & Outfitters
Flyfishinginnh.com Northwind Outfitters & Guide Service
Massachusetts Fly Fishing Osprey Fishing Adventures
W.S. Hunter and Company Coastal Conservation Association

Show hours are: Saturday, March 3rd, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 4th, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Admission is $7.00. Seniors are only $5.00 and children 12 and under have free admission to the show.

Directions to the show are easy. From I-93 South, take Exit 3 onto Route 111 East. Go a few hundred yards
and turn right onto Route 111A. Go 2.3 miles (Route 111A becomes Range Road). Turn left onto Marblehead
Road, which becomes Simpson Mill Road, where the club is located.

Visiting the show is a nice way to spend an early March weekend and get hyped on open water fishing
and get rid of that "cabin fever".  Hope to see you there.
